“The CAALC extends a warm welcome to new and potential members. Join us in our vision! “
The Caribbean American Association of Lake County (CAALC) Inc. began April 2004 in Clermont, Florida. CAALC held its first meeting with less than ten people. We have since grown to over fifty active members. We promote cultural activities, provide networking opportunities and reach out to local community through fundraising events.
We are a volunteer membership, tax-exempt 501 (c) (3) organizations that is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of young people in our community. We award five scholarships annually to deserving students of Caribbean American heritage from local high schools. We collaborate with Big Brothers, Big Sisters of Central Florida through our “Pennies of Hope” program with to provide mentoring and financial support to children whose parents are incarcerated.
We also provide emotional support to the elderly and shut-ins in the Clermont community. CAALC also provides assistance and donations in times of need to various Caribbean charity organizations. In addition, we are in the process of organizing after school tutoring. The CAALC Cultural group performs at various local events.
